Arthur defied the doctors. He overcame all the limits placed upon him by other people. In less than a year he completely transformed his life.
If only he had known, 15 years earlier, what was possible.
Of course, I’m talking about disabled Gulf War veteran Arthur Boorman. He was told by doctors he would never be able to walk unaided.
He was trapped in the cascade of chaotic thoughts. The negative talk he heard created his miserable life…
Don’t do…
I can’t do…
That’s not possible…
And yet, despite hearing “no” for 15 years, one day he heard “yes”. He finally found somebody who didn’t know him, but believed in him.
Arthur made a decision.
His new mantra became, “Just because I can’t do it today, doesn’t mean I won’t do it some day.”
You can watch Arthur’s story here
There is tremendous power in making a decision.
It is a life defining moment.
It’s as if in the split second of making the decision every belief that binds the “can’t do” is released.
In the spirit of sharing what works in life and business, I thought I’d share with you my top 10 tips on how to fail. After all, failure is easy – especially when you know how.
- Think negative thoughts about yourself
- Believe you’re not good enough
- Don’t focus
- Don’t make a decision
- Don’t have a goal or plans
- Use “but” after a positive planning sentence
- Don’t take consistent action
- Constantly chase even more knowledge and information
- Use unsupportive words after saying or thinking “I am”
- Forget fun, work is serious
Of course, the only outcome I want for you is your success. So take a moment and flip those those negatives to positives and voila you’ll have ingredients for success.
You’ll see there’s a lot of thinking going on in that list!
After many years of researching and working with business people I noticed even the smartest people using the best business strategies will fail if their thinking is flawed.
Your right thinking is fundamental to business success.
So, I’ve made a decision!
A new project is being launched. It is practical and revolutionary!
